Huskeys Raises $27M Series A Led by Blackstone to Build a New Security Layer for the Network Edge

The cybersecurity industry has spent years adding new layers of protection around applications, cloud infrastructure, and internet-facing services. But as organizations adopt more cloud providers, CDNs, web application firewalls and network technologies, a different problem is emerging: managing all of those systems together.

That challenge is now attracting investor attention. Huskeys has raised a $27 million Series A led by Blackstone Innovations Investments, bringing its total funding to $35 million following an $8 million seed round. The funding was first reported by the Wall Street Journal and comes as Huskeys builds what it calls a new category of cybersecurity technology: Network Edge Security Management, or NESM.

Other investors in the round include Merlin Ventures, Skinos Ventures, Zscaler Ventures, Okta Ventures, Bright Pixel Capital and SV Angel, alongside individual investors including WAF and CAPTCHA inventor Eran Reshef and executives from Palo Alto Networks, Cloudflare, Check Point, AWS, Google, Microsoft and Intel.

The network edge has become increasingly crowded. Modern applications often depend on a mix of cloud infrastructure, security products, content delivery networks and networking components, with each platform generating its own policies, configurations and security signals.

That fragmentation can make security management more difficult. Teams must understand whether controls are working, determine how policy changes will affect legitimate traffic, and respond to emerging threats without disrupting business-critical applications.

The stakes extend beyond cybersecurity. Blocking legitimate traffic can affect customers and revenue, while allowing malicious traffic through can create an opening for attackers. As organizations operate increasingly complex environments, security teams are being asked to manage both risks at the same time.

AI is adding to the pressure. Autonomous agents are beginning to create new forms of legitimate application traffic, while attackers are using AI-driven capabilities to identify and exploit vulnerabilities faster.

Huskeys is positioning its technology around the growing need to understand and manage those different forms of traffic and infrastructure through a unified layer.

Rather than replacing an organization’s existing technologies, Huskeys’ platform is designed to sit across them. It connects and orchestrates CDNs, WAFs, cloud-native security tools and network components including load balancers, VPCs and security groups.

The company says its patented Unified Data Model provides a common layer of understanding across different technologies and providers. That approach is intended to allow security insights, policies and actions to move across environments while supporting multi-cloud and multi-vendor infrastructure.

The platform includes continuous posture assessment, dynamic policy generation, orchestration, and Virtual Patching. The latter allows organizations to mitigate vulnerabilities at the network edge while a permanent fix is developed, tested, and deployed within application code.

Huskeys is also addressing the rise of agentic traffic by helping organizations distinguish and manage legitimate AI-driven interactions while reducing security risks and false positives.

Huskeys says its customer base includes TikTok, LEGOLAND, Ro, Blackstone and Hugging Face. The company is already analyzing more than a trillion web requests and thousands of network configurations every day across organizations worldwide.

For Blackstone, the investment reflects the growing importance of managing security across increasingly distributed environments.

As AI-driven traffic and fragmented infrastructure continue to reshape the network edge, Huskeys is making a broader bet: that organizations will need a dedicated management layer capable of connecting the technologies they already use rather than another standalone security product.
