India to hold Women's Champions Trophy as Sri Lanka removed as hosts
The ICC has confirmed that the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy will be held in India next year, after Sri Lanka were removed from hosting duties.

The ICC has confirmed that the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy will be held in India next year, after Sri Lanka were removed from hosting duties.
The six-team tournament, taking place from February 14-28 next year, was due to be held in Sri Lanka but will now take place in the Indian cities of Mumbai and Vadodara.
Sri Lanka have lost the right to stage the tournament because of government interference in their board, with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) currently holding an interim administration put in place by the Sri Lanka government.
The ICC said the SLC 'continue to make the requisite reforms' outlined at the ICC's Annual Conference in July, with Bangladesh and South Africa assessed as potential options before India were confirmed as host nation.
ICC Chairman, Mr. Jay Shah, said: "The ICC Women's Champions Trophy 2027 marks an exciting new chapter for women's cricket.
"As the inaugural edition of the tournament, it will bring together the best teams in the world in an intense, high-quality competition, while creating even greater incentive for teams to continue rising through the rankings and competing for a place on the global stage.
"With a marquee ICC women's event now taking place every year, we have a significant opportunity to build greater momentum, provide more consistency and create a stronger rhythm for the women's game, its players and its fans around the world."

Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka are the six teams involved, based on their positions in the ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings on the July 6 qualification cut-off date.
All six teams will compete in a round-robin league, with the top two sides advancing to the final on February 28.
The matches will be held at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and Vadodara's International Cricket Stadium.
