Listen to Phoebe Bridgers’ New Song for A24 Film Primetime
Bridgers stars in the Lance Oppenheim-directed movie opposite Robert Pattinson
Primetime , the new A24 film directed by Lance Oppenheim that chronicles Chris Hansen’s infamous 2000s TV program To Catch a Predator , hits theaters today (September 25). Robert Pattinson portrays Hansen, with Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers starring in additional roles. As it turns out, Bridgers recorded a new song for the movie as part of its soundtrack, too. Listen to “On Video” below.
“On Video” isn’t just a one-off single that was tacked onto the movie. Bridgers composed it specifically for Primetime , drawing influence from composer Ari Balouzian’s original score to draw the film to an end, as her song functions as the closing track.
Primetime is Bridgers’ first time acting as a cast member for a film, but it technically isn’t her debut appearance in a movie; in 2024, she made a cameo as herself in Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow .
Last month, Bridgers made her long-awaited return as a solo artist with Lost Weekend , her third solo LP overall and first in six years, following 2020’s Punisher . She’s currently on an extensive headlining tour in support of Lost Weekend , and she has invited some of the album’s collaborators to help her bring it to life onstage.
