The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) is stepping up efforts to further strengthen Greece’s presence in the French tourism market, with a focus on extending the tourism season, attracting travellers to a broader range of Greek destinations and forging new partnerships for 2027.

As part of this strategy, around 200 senior representatives of the French tourism industry, including tour operators, travel agencies, OTAs and journalists from French media outlets, attended a major B2B event organised by GNTO’s France office in cooperation with SKY express at the Greek ambassador’s residence in Paris, on the sidelines of the IFTM 2026 international tourism trade fair.

GNTO Secretary-General Andreas Fiorentinos placed the focus of Greece’s presence in Paris on the goal of promoting “more Greece, in more seasons”, stressing that the organisation’s strategy centres on extending the tourism season, spreading travel flows geographically and showcasing new destinations and authentic travel experiences.

“The French market is of strategic importance to Greek tourism. Our aim is to further broaden the relationship between French travellers and Greece by showcasing more destinations and more travel experiences throughout the year. Greece is not just a leading summer destination. Gastronomy, mountains, nature, culture and authentic experiences in every part of the country give us the opportunity to substantially extend the tourism season and encourage tourists to explore more parts of the country,” Fiorentinos said.

The secretary-general stressed that Greece’s participation in IFTM 2026 forms part of the organisation’s outward-looking strategy, which is based on close cooperation with regional and local authorities, tourism professionals and the aviation sector.
