Death from Above 1979 have rescheduled their North American tour, pushing back their Private Lives tour until 2027.
UPDATE (9/29, 12:06 p.m. ET): Bassist Jesse F. Keeler and vocalist Sebastien Grainger have officially announced their forthcoming new album Private Lives (out January 29 via Last Gang / MNRK). It is previewed today by the new single and title track, which is accompanied by a music video starring actor Kim Bodnia. Check it out, as well as the record's tracklist, below.
On social media last week (September 22), the Canadian rock duo explained that they wanted this tour to be in support of a new album (presumably called Private Lives ), but, "When we booked our fall 2026 tour, we wanted it to be an album tour, yet we hadn't stepped foot in a studio." By delaying to 2027, they added, "We can put the final touches on our new music and prepare to share it."
The tour had been due to start on October 1. Now, they're planning to be on the road through February and March of next year.
The original itinerary had Canadian dates in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. The new one is hitting all those same cities, plus Waterloo, Ottawa, Red Deer and Victoria.
The band's website notes, "Refunds will be available for 30 days (deadline OCT 22th 2026) on rescheduled shows after which time tickets will transfer over to the new date. Any total cancellations should be refunded at your point-of-purchase. See you soon soon soon!"
