Rush really are switching up their setlists on their reunion tour . Rush really are switching up their setlists on their reunion tour . Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, the two surviving members of the pioneering Canadian prog-rock trio, recently headed out on their first run of dates since drummer Neil Peart died in 2020. Sunday's tour opener at LA's Kia Forum included lots of live rarities, as well as appearances from Aimee Mann, Paul Rudd, and Jason Segel. Last night, for the second gig of the tour, Rush played all of "2112" for the first time since 1997.

"2112" is the seven-part sci-fi opus that takes up an entire side on Rush's 1976 album of the same name. Rush have played parts of that suite live many times, and the tour opener included an extended "2112" detour. But the last time that Rush performed "2112" in its entirety was a July 4, 1997 show in Ottawa. At other shows from reunited heritage acts, a 20-minute prog odyssey might seem like a complete indulgence, but Rush fans know that's the real Rush experience.

Last night's show, the second at the Kia Forum, once again included the band doing "Time Stand Still" with Aimee Mann. They also trotted out a bunch of songs that they haven't performed in well over a decade, including "The Analog Kid," "Leave That Thing Alone," "The Trees," "Headlong Flight," "Animate," "Anthem," "Witch Hunt," and "Closer To The Heart." Watch some fan videos of them doing "2112" below.
