Mosaics of Lin in Lin, Albania
The original basilica was long ago destroyed (7-8th century) but the foundation remains as do amazingly well-preserved floor mosaics. There are different designs - animals, religious, but they are only uncovered one at a time in rotation to prevent damage from the sun. The remaining mosaics remain covered with heavy plastic and sand and you can also see a cistern and catacomb. The gate to the area is locked and although it sounds like there used to be a sign with the caretaker’s phone number, that is now gone.
