Rennes star insists he knows how big Juventus is

Brice Samba is preparing to face Juventus as Rennes travel to the Allianz Stadium for their Europa League encounter this evening . The goalkeeper understands the scale of the challenge awaiting his team, with Juve carrying a history of success in both domestic and European football.

Although Juventus are no longer enjoying the same dominance they once displayed, they remain a club expected to compete for major honours. The Bianconeri continue to carry considerable expectations, and their opponents know that facing them requires concentration, discipline and a strong collective performance.

Juventus have worked hard to prepare for their European fixtures and have enjoyed an encouraging campaign in the competition so far. Their performances suggest that their domestic difficulties have not significantly affected their European form, but they will need to maintain that level if they want to continue progressing.

The Bianconeri will be keen to respond after suffering a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Lazio at the weekend. That result could give Rennes additional belief that they can cause an upset, particularly if Juventus struggle to recover their confidence quickly enough.

However, Juventus will still be determined to make the most of their home advantage. Their European performances have been strong, and they will know that one disappointing domestic result should not define their approach to another important fixture.

For Samba, the challenge will be to help Rennes remain organised and prevent Juventus from finding the net. The goalkeeper is aware of the reputation of the club he is about to face and has followed their progress since he was younger.

Speaking via Tuttomercatoweb , Samba reflected on his familiarity with Juventus and explained his admiration for the club’s history. He also mentioned his connection with Randal Kolo Muani, offering a personal detail ahead of the encounter.

“I know this very well because I followed Juventus as a young player. Juve’s history and seeing all their trophies in the dressing room was impressive. We will do our best to represent our club well and win. I know Kolo Muani well because I hear him often on Snapchat.”

Samba’s comments underline the respect Rennes have for their opponents, but the French side will not travel to Turin simply to admire Juventus’ achievements. They will be looking for an opportunity to challenge the hosts and take advantage of any uncertainty following the weekend defeat.

Juventus, meanwhile, must ensure that their domestic problems do not carry over into Europe. Maintaining their strong continental form will require another disciplined performance, particularly against an opponent determined to make the most of its chances.
