PC Music founders remaster debut album as label marks thirteen years
A.G. Cook and Danny L Harle are reissuing their 2013 project Dux Content, highlighting the enduring commercial influence of the hyperpop label they co-founded.
Producers A.G. Cook and Danny L Harle have officially returned under their Dux Content moniker to mark the thirteenth anniversary of the PC Music label. The duo is preparing to release a remastered version of their 2013 album ‘Lifestyle’ on 10 July.
Originally released as one of the earliest projects on the label, the cult album will be made available both digitally and on vinyl via PC Music. The expanded reissue will also feature two additional bonus tracks, ‘Business Class’ and ‘Rouge’.
Cook and Harle co-founded the influential imprint in 2013. Their futuristic, shiny sound effectively birthed the hyperpop genre, inspiring a wave of mainstream artists including Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, PinkPantheress and plenty more.
This anniversary highlights the enduring commercial footprint of both producers within the wider music economy. Since founding PC Music, Cook has worked with major international acts such as Beyoncé and Oklou. He is currently producing Charli XCX’s upcoming record ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, extending an executive production role he has maintained for her since her 2017 mixtape ‘Number 1 Angel’.
Harle similarly maintains a robust presence in mainstream pop production. He released his debut studio album ‘Cerulean’ this year. His recent production portfolio includes work on Dua Lipa’s ‘Radical Optimism’, Caroline Polachek’s ‘Pang’ and ‘Desire, I Want To Turn Into You’, as well as Olly Alexander’s ‘Polari’.
Beyond commercial production, Cook continues to advocate for the broader cultural recognition of the genre’s pioneers. After releasing his third studio album ‘Britpop’ in 2024, he spoke about preserving the legacy of hyperpop pioneer SOPHIE, who died aged 34 after an accidental fall from a roof in 2021.
“SOPHIE is so well known within a certain bubble and so clearly valued,” Cook stated. “But at a mainstream level, there’s still a lot of work to be done. I hope this isn’t the cut-off point where everyone delivers their tributes and goes home – hopefully it’s part of a genuine acknowledgement that will reach more people.”
