A lawsuit from Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders isn't going to stop My Chemical Romance. The beloved emo band is out on their The Black Parade Tour celebrating 20 years of the outsider classic. Last night at LA's Hollywood Bowl, they confirmed plans for a new record.
MCR's last studio album was 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys , which was followed by a 2014 greatest hits LP titled May Death Never Stop You . It seemed, when the group released the new song " The Foundations Of Decay " in 2022, that an album was imminent. But no! Nothing of the sort arrived. Last night, though, Gerard Way told the crowd, "Next year, we want to go make a record, so we're probably not doing any shows. There's no secret code to that… but seriously, we want to go do that and then hopefully we'll see you guys in 2028."
Meanwhile, the band also brought out their former rival, the Used's Bert McCracken, the night before at the same venue. The Used were opening, and Way joined the Used for self-titled's "Buried Myself Alive" and McCracken joined MCR for Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge 's "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us in Prison."
