Jonathan Varane denied Burnley a first win under new boss Fabio Celestini as QPR fought back for a 1-1 draw.
Largie Ramazani had Burnley dreaming of only their second victory of the season when he fired them ahead at Loftus Road.
But Varane's second-half strike earned Rangers a point, with a little help from Burnley goalkeeper Gregoire Coudert.
The Clarets arrived in west London with one win in 13 Championship games and already on a second manager of the season after Nicky Hayen was sacked last week.
QPR came into the match after a topsy turvy October, hammering Derby 4-1 and Swansea 5-0 at home, while losing 3-0 at Birmingham and, on Saturday, 4-1 at Southampton.
The hosts almost got off to the perfect start after Harvey Vale won a free-kick on the edge of the box, but the midfielder curled his effort inches wide.
Rangers wideman Paul Smyth then cut inside Hjalmar Ekdal only to pull his shot just wide of the near post, before captain Jimmy Dunne's long-range drive cleared the crossbar.
Preston 2-3 Sheffield United: Sydie Peck's hat-trick sees Blades to victory
Southampton 4-1 Queens Park Rangers: Saints continue charge with thumping win
Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 Cardiff City: Fer Lopez strikes in Wolves win
Middlesbrough 3-0 Charlton Athletic: Will Lankshear scores twice in Boro win
Swansea City 4-0 Blackburn Rovers: Swans back to winning ways in thumping victory
Bolton Wanderers 2-3 Bristol City: Scott Twine scores stoppage-time winner for Robins
But out of nothing, Burnley took the lead with seven minutes of a one-sided first half remaining.
Coudert's clearance was met with a poor header from Rangers defender Ronnie Edwards.
Jamie Vardy cleverly worked the second ball out to Leeds loanee Ramazani, who struck a sweet 20-yard drive past Pierce Charles, the Rangers goalkeeper getting a hand to the ball but not keeping it out.
Moments later Vardy thought he had set up a second for Andreas Hountondji, who tucked the ball past Charles only to be flagged offside.
Rangers almost hit back before half-time through Edwards' deflected shot, but Coudert got down to make a fine save.
They should have equalised just after the break when Vale whipped in a free-kick but Dunne uncharacteristically missed a free header.
Rangers boss Julien Stephan made a double change on the hour and the subs almost combined to equalise with their first touches, Rayan Kolli pulling the ball back for Ilias Chair, who blazed over the crossbar.
However, the hosts hauled themselves level in the 65th minute when Chair teed up Varane, whose shot from the edge of the box slipped under Coudert's glove and into the net.
Vardy could have won it for the Clarets - and probably would have done 10 years ago - when he was put through by Hountondji late on.
The 39-year-old former Premier League winner let the ball run across him, but then buried his angled finish into the side-netting.
