Silversea and PerryGolf to launch premium golf cruise itineraries from 2027
Silversea is partnering with PerryGolf to offer curated golf voyages starting in 2027, signaling a strategic industry shift toward high-yield, niche experiential travel to capture affluent consumers.
Silversea has announced a partnership with international golf travel provider PerryGolf to launch a new collection of golf-focused luxury cruises beginning in 2027. The initiative will grant passengers access to premier golf courses across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
Travelers can upgrade select voyages with curated programmes that include guaranteed tee times, covered green fees, and luxury transfers between the ship and the course. The packages also provide lunch, refreshments, and access to practice facilities at participating venues.
This move highlights a broader strategic shift within the cruise industry toward niche, high-yield experiential travel. Operators are increasingly moving beyond traditional onboard amenities to capture affluent demographics seeking exclusive, activity-driven shore excursions.
Themed and active wellness voyages are becoming critical differentiators in a competitive market. Competitors have recently introduced similar targeted packages, including Formula 1-themed sailings with MSC Cruises and its luxury brand Explora Journeys.
The European itineraries prominently feature the sport’s historic venues. A round-trip Southampton sailing in August 2027 aboard the Silver Spirit will include stops at Royal Liverpool, Prince’s Golf Club in Kent, Portstewart in Northern Ireland, and Scottish courses Castle Stuart and Dumbarnie Links.
A Mediterranean route departing from Barcelona in late October 2027 will showcase continental courses. Guests aboard the Silver Ray will play at Spain’s Camiral Stadium Course, Las Colinas, and two Mallorca venues, Son Gual and Alcanada.
“Silversea is built on giving guests access to experiences that go beyond what most travel can offer,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea. “Our partnership with PerryGolf extends that standard to golf – placing guests on some of the world's most celebrated courses, with every detail managed and every comfort included.”
The collection also includes a 14-day Sydney to Auckland voyage in early 2028 on the Silver Moon. This route features historic and cliffside courses in Australia and New Zealand, including Tasmania, Otago, Royal Wellington, Cape Kidnappers, and Kauri Cliffs.
