Monster Energy Downhill Series Expands US Footprint at Solitude Resort

Monster Energy Downhill Series Expands US Footprint at Solitude Resort

The third round of the 2026 Pro Downhill Series at Solitude Mountain Resort aims to elevate the commercial profile of gravity racing ahead of the national championships.

Round 3 of the 2026 Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series takes place at Solitude Mountain Resort in the Wasatch Mountains this weekend. The event draws professional racers, rising juniors and amateur competitors to the venue from July 17 to 19.

For the series organizers and title sponsor, the weekend represents a strategic effort to give gravity racing a larger commercial stage on home soil. The circuit has established itself as the leading downhill racing series in the United States, attracting top domestic and international talent to expand the sport's profile.

The sporting and commercial focal point of the event is Holy Schist, a purpose-built downhill track at the resort. This custom venue has become one of the most demanding on the series calendar, featuring technical corners, rock gardens and high-speed sections.

The competition format offers no margin for error, which heightens the spectacle for spectators and sponsors alike. Riders must rely on a single timed run after spending practice sessions walking the course to memorize every feature. A missed braking point or a clipped tree can eliminate a competitor, ensuring high stakes for the championship points on offer.

The schedule begins on Friday, July 17, with Group A downhill seeding and qualifying at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, July 18, features Group B qualifying at 1:45 p.m., followed by an estimated 3:00 p.m. final for Group A. The weekend concludes on Sunday, July 19, with the main downhill finals at 11:15 a.m.

Beyond determining the immediate podium finishers, the event serves as a critical proving ground ahead of the USA Cycling Gravity National Championships. The results will shape the championship standings and offer stakeholders a clear indicator of the trajectory of American downhill racing.

Hosting such a marquee event allows Solitude Mountain Resort to capitalize on the professional racing circuit. By integrating into the series, the resort leverages its custom infrastructure to capture value from a specialized sporting demographic.
