Razorlight to play 30 European cities on 20th anniversary tour

Razorlight to play 30 European cities on 20th anniversary tour

Razorlight will play over 30 venues across the continent this autumn, testing the commercial draw of mid-2000s nostalgia in the European live music market.

Razorlight have announced a 30-date European and UK tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their self-titled second album. The run begins at Kägelbanen in Stockholm on October 23 and concludes at 3Olympia in Dublin on December 14. The routing spans mainland Europe from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean, with major stops in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Milan.

The extensive itinerary underscores the continued appetite for mid-2000s guitar music on the continent's live circuit. The 2006 record was a major commercial success, topping the UK charts and selling 1.6 million copies on its way to five-times platinum status. The upcoming dates will see the band's four original members perform the album in full, a touring model that has become a reliable revenue driver for heritage acts.

This European trek follows the release of "Planet Nowhere" in 2024, the first studio album from the classic lineup since 2008. The group's ability to mount a tour of this scale effectively confirms the commercial viability of their reunion. Frontman Johnny Borrell had previously indicated the band's future depended entirely on that 2024 record. "I said to everyone: 'If new music doesn't work, let's move on.' I was ready to ceremonially say goodbye to Razorlight," he said.

To coincide with the tour, the group is issuing a deluxe edition of the 2006 album, though a precise release date is not yet set. They have previewed the collection with "Lost In America", an early, more upbeat recording of their chart-topping single "America". "We tried to 'sell' it to any interested artists through our publishers but they were getting no interest," Borrell explained of the track. "I loved it at this point but felt it was a little too safe for Razorlight."

The European leg features support from The K’s, with The Molotovs joining the bill for the UK shows. The tour culminates in a London date at the OVO Arena Wembley on December 4. The gruelling logistics of a multi-country arena and theatre run are not lost on the band. "We’re all thrilled and terrified – not of the shows, but when you start thinking of the planes and hotels and the bus," Borrell said. "We can be cranky! We’re humans! But hey, bring it on. Bring it on, I think?"
