Fletchr Fletchr announce second EP On The Island We Call Home, share new single “Streetlights”

British rock band Fletchr Fletchr have confirmed their second EP, On The Island We Call Home , alongside the release of its lead single “Streetlights”. The record will arrive on 21 Aug via Polydor, and will be supported with a UK headline tour this autumn.

“It’s about falling in love,” vocalist Rohan Fletcher explained of the anthemic new single. “Feeling like everything was aligned for you, then dealing with keeping that initial connection as alight as possible through the ups and downs of a relationship.” He noted that the song marks a tonal shift for the group: “It’s a much more hopeful take on this topic than we’ve written before.”

A video directed by Maisy Banks (Gretel, mary in the junkyard) continues the expressive visual thread from the band’s previous single “Fucking With My Head”, with an interpretive dancer reflecting the track’s emotional arc.

The new EP follows last October’s debut We All Feel the Same and finds the quartet refining a self-produced sound that has the live stage in mind. Fletcher said the collection represents a step forward in both craft and subject matter. “While still completely self produced, we’ve refined what we learnt from We All Feel The Same into a much heavier hitting project that was curated to translate on the live stage. We dive deeper than we have before on this EP, and it’s only the start of our next chapter.” He added that the themes carry a sharper edge: “You can hear a bit more angst and anger in this new set of songs.”

Fletchr Fletchr formed around the longstanding friendship of Rohan Fletcher and guitarist Adam Sanders, who began writing together in sixth form and later turned to the band as a way through shared grief following the death of Fletcher’s father. That bond, Fletcher has said, recast the group’s purpose: “We’re doing it in the name of something now, rather than just for ourselves.” The line-up is completed by drummer Oli Williams and bassist George Green, who contributed to the writing for the first time on this EP.

The band have spent the summer playing festivals including Isle of Wight and Boardmasters, and recently supported Dogstar at the Roundhouse in London. Their autumn headline run opens at Exeter Cavern on 22 September and includes a London date at Chats Palace on 24 September, before wrapping at The Cornish Bank in Falmouth on 4 October.
