Several helicopters typically deployed for forest fires were also mobilized to support the ground teams. By Saturday lunchtime, officials confirmed the major risk of the fire spreading within residential zones had passed. However, firefighters have not yet gained full control over the adjacent forested areas.
Police reported no fatalities, though one firefighter sustained minor injuries and several individuals received treatment for smoke inhalation. Local newspaper Dagbladet observed that the devastated area resembles a war zone, characterized by burned-out cars and destroyed houses.
