Bournemouth rejects bids for Scott despite midfielder snubbing new deal

The recent £116m transfer of Elliot Anderson sets a daunting financial benchmark. In this context, Bournemouth's decision to retain Scott is a calculated economic manoeuvre as much as a sporting one.
Scott is entering the final two years of his existing deal. Ordinarily, letting a contract run down risks a club losing a valuable asset on a free transfer. However, Bournemouth clearly believe his current market value exceeds the preliminary bids submitted by their wealthy rivals. Scott’s high market valuation is built on elite defensive metrics paired with notable technical quality. His performances nearly earned him a spot in England's World Cup squad. For Arsenal, Chelsea and United, he represents a potentially more cost-effective alternative to the summer's other expensive midfield acquisitions, having previously partnered Anderson to win the European Under-21 Championships.
Bournemouth fully expect Scott to report for duty next season, regardless of whether he signs a new offer or plays out his current terms.
