Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and Epiphone have teamed up to release the limited edition Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior in radiant red.
The instrument retails for $649, making it a fairly reasonable entry point for beginners looking to get into guitar. It’s currently available via Epiphone or Reverb .
The guitar is deliberately simple, featuring one pickup and two knobs for tone and volume. The guitar has a mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 jumbo frets, an Epiphone E-90 pickup, and a Lightning Bar wraparound bridge. It joins Mike Dirnt’s signature Grabber G-3 as another in the line of Green Day signature instruments through Epiphone.
Green Day are set to release the soundtrack to the upcoming comedy film NIMRODS , inspired by the band’s early days on the road. The soundtrack is due out July 31st, with the film set to hit theaters on August 14th.
