Slovakian singer Adéla announces debut album and North American tour

The 2023 reality television breakout is set to release her first record through Capitol Records this autumn, marking a major commercial push by a Central European artist into the mainstream North American music market.

Slovakian singer Adéla has announced her debut album, Prima, and released a new single titled "Ain’t In LA." The record is scheduled for release on September 4 through Capitol Records.

The release marks a significant commercial push for the artist, who first gained international attention in 2023 through the reality competition show The Debut: Dream Academy. That same programme ultimately produced the global K-Pop group KATSEYE, demonstrating the format's ability to generate exportable pop acts.

Adéla has already built momentum this year with the tracks "KGB" and "Red Bottoms," the latter featuring production from 100 Gecs’ Dylan Brady. Brady is also serving as executive producer on Prima alongside Blake Slatkin.

The new single "Ain’t In LA" draws on personal family history. Adéla based the track on photographs of her mother posing in front of pop culture imagery.

"My grandfather smuggled the posters in from Germany," Adéla explained regarding the inspiration. "It made me think, 'There are so many beautiful girls with dreams who will never get their flowers like my mom.' I wrote this for her and the billion other bitches who are probably cooler than me."

The singer stated that she wanted the new record to capture the perspective of youth. "I want this album to sound exactly like a 22-year-old girl," she said. "I mixed the hard with the soft, the vulnerable with the swag of it all, the muscular beats with the feminine energy. I did exactly what I wanted."

To support the release, Adéla has scheduled an extensive tour across North America and Mexico. The routing includes major markets such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and Toronto, concluding with two shows in Mexico City in October.

Her only currently announced European date is a performance in London at HERE at Outernet on August 25. She is also scheduled to play the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on August 2 and the Portola Music Festival in San Francisco on September 27.
