Warner Records Sets September Release for Orville Peck’s Fourth Album

The country artist’s new record and North American tour feature a structured charitable donation model, though the current rollout remains entirely absent from European markets.

Warner Records has scheduled a September 18 release for Orville Peck’s fourth studio album, "Mule", alongside a supporting 19-date North American fall tour. The announcement outlines the next commercial phase for the artist, following his 2024 studio album "Stampede", the November EP "Appaloosa", a 2025 Broadway debut in "Cabaret", and a film role as the masked Vega in "Street Fighter".

For European observers of the global music industry, the immediate significance of this rollout lies in its strict regional focus. The "Man Turned Mule Tour" kicks off on October 28 at Channel 24 in Sacramento and concludes on November 22 at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, with support from Abbie Callahan. The complete absence of European dates suggests the label is currently prioritising revenue consolidation and audience growth within North American markets before considering transatlantic expansion.

The album’s thematic core addresses Peck’s personal struggle with addiction, his pursuit of sobriety, and his efforts to rebuild himself. A press release stated that the record approaches these subjects with unflinching honesty, humor, and compassion, utilizing classic country storytelling, bluegrass, and expansive Americana to confront love, loss, and identity.

From a public life and corporate responsibility standpoint, the tour incorporates a direct charitable mechanism. The label confirmed that $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to The Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people.

The commercial rollout is supported by strategic ticketing phases. VIP packages go on sale on Monday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. local time, followed by an artist pre-sale on Tuesday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. via Orvillepeck.com. A Citi cardmember pre-sale in select markets runs concurrently until Thursday, July 30 at 10:00 p.m., ahead of the general public sale on Friday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Musically, the project leverages high-profile industry collaborations. The lead single, "Too Little, Too Late", was produced by Jay Joyce, known for his work with Patty Griffin and Eric Church. It was co-written by Peck, Dan Wilson, whose credits include The Chicks, and Steve Rusch, a collaborator of Beyoncé and Jessie Murph.

The press release describes the track as a raucous, dirt-kicking country-pop banger about moving on when an ex returns, featuring the lyrics: “Ooh they say, good things come to those who wait/ Too little, too late... I’m always up, you don’t even have to ask/ So save your breath, you’ll need it dear/ It’s cold out on that limb, I hear.” This follows the earlier release of the album’s opening track, "Prologue (Eulogy of a Man Turned Mule)", which features vocals from Emmylou Harris, Noah Cyrus, and Allison Russell.
