Pouzza Fest has announced new dates for 2027’s festival. The fest was originally set to take place over the Victoria Day weekend in May, but due to the Montreal Formula 1 Grand Prix taking place that same weekend. The festival released a statement on Instagram that reads in part, ”After more than 15 years of celebrating Pouzza during the Victoria Day long weekend, we had to make the difficult decision to change our dates for our 15th edition. Pouzza 15 will now take place from July 22 to 25, 2027, in downtown Montreal! At the end of our 14th edition, we were confident we'd be back on the same weekend the following year. But when we started contacting our hotel partners, we quickly realized there was a problem: hotel rooms were sometimes more than 10 times more expensive than the year before. After looking into it, we found out why: the Montreal Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place on the same weekend as our usual dates. For us, this was a serious budget issue. But more importantly, we were thinking about you. Every year, so many of you travel to Pouzza from across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe and even Asia. We are incredibly proud to welcome you to Montreal and to create a festival where everyone can feel at home. Pouzza is a community. It's a safe, inclusive and open-minded space. A place where people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life can come together, be themselves and celebrate music without ever having to wonder if they belong. And let's be honest: while we have nothing but respect for people who love Formula 1 and the Grand Prix, we don't think our two communities are necessarily looking for the same experience. Pouzza is the opposite of a VIP event. It's a place where you can show up in your old sneakers, your favourite hoodie and with your friends, and feel completely at home. We like noise. But we prefer it when it comes from guitars and amplifiers. We wanted to make sure Pouzza could continue to offer that unique experience, that special atmosphere and that feeling of freedom that are such a big part of who we are. So, after many discussions with the Quartier des spectacles and the City of Montreal, we are very happy to announce that Pouzza 15 will take place from July 22 to 25, 2027! It will be hot. It will be sunny. Downtown Montreal will be shaking to the sound of Pouzza bands, and people from all over the world will be able to come together in a place where everyone can be themselves, feel safe and have a great time. And most importantly, nobody will have to sell a kidney to pay for a hotel room. Pouzza Fest will take place in Montreal on July 22-25, 2027.
