Wargasm signs with Hopeless Records for North American expansion
The electronic-rock duo has secured a new label deal and announced an extensive North American tour to capitalize on their growing catalog of high-profile collaborations.
Rock and electronic duo Wargasm has signed a new recording contract with Hopeless Records. The agreement is accompanied by the release of their new single, Get Down.
This partnership represents a significant commercial step for the group, comprising Milkie Way and Sam Matlock. By aligning with a new label, the act secures backing for its next phase of international distribution and audience growth.
The first release under this new corporate arrangement explores themes of isolation, mortality and escapism. Musically, the track combines pulsing electronic beats and effects with distorted guitars and an anthemic chorus.
To capitalize on this new release and expand their market footprint, the duo is undertaking an extensive North American tour. They will serve as the supporting act for Scene Queen throughout September and October.
This touring strategy covers twenty-four distinct markets across the United States. The itinerary launches on September 15 in Atlanta and runs through October 25 in Orlando, targeting established regional circuits.
Live performances remain a primary revenue driver for modern recording artists. By playing venues from the House of Blues in San Diego to the Palladium Upstairs in Worcester, the group is monetizing their catalog.
The signing follows a period of steady product development and high-profile collaborations for the duo. Last summer, they released the single Small World Syndrome, maintaining momentum between major album cycles.
Wargasm has also leveraged strategic partnerships with established industry figures to broaden their demographic reach. They collaborated with the Australian group Pendulum on the track Cannibal, which appeared on the album Inertia.
Further expanding their network, the duo worked with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor on the 2024 single 70% Dead. The artists described this particular release as a cry out at a world gone mad.
Their foundational commercial asset remains their 2023 debut album, Venom. This record included a collaboration with Fred Durst on the track Bang Ya Head, anchoring their initial market entry.
Critical reception has validated their aggressive product strategy. A four-star review from NME highlighted the album's raw feel, noting how tracks like S.A.D. and Ride The Thunder successfully balance heavy instrumentation with atmospheric vocal contrasts.
Looking ahead to this new label era, the duo's leadership has signaled an intent to scale their output. Speaking at Download Festival 2024, Matlock stated that the group needs to bring more war, and more gasm.
