The To Catch a Predator host has purchased preshow ads to promote his streaming network before showings of A24's Primetime. Chris Hansen to Make People Look at His Real Face Before They See Robert Pattinson in Primetime Liz Shannon Miller

The official description for director Lance Oppenheim’s Primetime is “In 2006, To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history.” The latest trailer reveals a fictionalized behind-the-scenes look at the NBC news show’s production, co-starring Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers in her first major acting role.

Hansen has apparently not seen the movie yet, because A24 wouldn’t let him screen it early without signing an agreement to not take legal action against the project. ( THR reports that he is in fact consulting with attorneys about his options.)

Recently, Hansen appeared as an interview subject in the documentary Predators , which explored the lasting impact of To Catch a Predator on society. It’s streaming now on Paramount+, and is also available on VOD via Apple and Amazon . Primetime , meanwhile, will hit theaters on September 25th. Check out the latest trailer below.
