Manchester music venue and events space renae will offer funding for three up-and-coming music promoters in the city as part of a new initiative.
Named Promoter Promise , the scheme comes with the help of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and will directly support marginalised and underrepresented communities in the music scene.
"We are incredibly excited to launch our new funding opportunity and events initiative," renae announced on Instagram last week (September 7). "We will be working with three promoters to produce three brand new events in our upstairs space, The Other People Place."
The venue, which opened in Manchester’s Northern Quarter last March , says that it’s aiming to "improve diversity within the world of events promotion and facilitate the creation of incredible, new events."
Three successful applicants to the Promoter Promise initiative will each be granted a £1,000 curatorial budget, a £350 bursary and a £300 marketing budget to throw music-led events in renae’s T.O.P.P..
The initiative will also support the chosen applicants by offering one-to-one development classes with events programmer Beau-Azra, as well as "end-to-end event project support".
