Modeselektor announce new album, 'MDSLKTR', share ‘AORTA’: Listen

Arriving on 22nd January via the German duo's own Monkeytown Records label, 'MDSLKTR' marks the first new studio album from the German duo (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) in five years.
The album picks up where their retrospective compilation 'Modeselektor Classics Vol. 01' left off, “looking back a little, but definitely not going backwards". The compilation, which came out in March, saw the duo reimagine a cache of classic tracks.
“We're much more into finding out what's left when you stop adding things and start taking things away,” they said of the new album in a press release. “We just wanted to find the core of it. We weren't trying to make perfect tracks. We were trying to make the most honest ones we could.”

Gudrun Gut, Siriusmo, Kabeaushé, Tommy Cash, Miss Platnum and Lars Eidinger are among the contributors to the album. In the studio, they also worked with synth/production specialist Johannes Wagner, aka J.Manuel, as a co-producer and writer.
'MDSLKTR' follows Modeselektor's K7! DJ-Kicks offering in 2025 and their 'Extended Chords' LP in 2021. Alongside their work as Modeselektor, the pair have also released several collaborative projects with Apparat as Moderat, including 'More D4ta' in 2022.
