PeelingFlesh Announce New Self-Titled Album: Hear “Murderous Intent” (Feat. Missing Link’s Mike Ryan)
In the past few years, a huge segment of the hardcore underground has gone heavy, embracing the most brutal, ugly, guttural strains of death metal, deathcore, and slam. As you can tell by both the band name and the unreadable logo above, PeelingFlesh's whole style is about as unfriendly as it gets. They've got an utterly demented sound, violent speed-chug breakdowns with pig-squeal vocals and occasional Southern rap samples, that truly makes no sense to me. It makes the kids go crazy, though.
PeelingFlesh have been putting out music since 2021, when they debuted with the Slamaholics mixtape, and their full-length debut The G Code came out in 2024. This fall, they'll follow it with their new self-titled album. It's got guest appearances from members of Sanguisugabogg, Bayway, Stabbing, and Extermination Dismemberment. In a press release frontman Damonteal Harris describes it as "an insane mixture of drop G and drop F songs that are some of our favorite and craziest songs we've written to date."
Lead single "Murderous Intent" is a garbled riff-monolith that features Mike Ryan, frontman of the New York heavy hardcore band Missing Link, as well as some fun sample stuff. Check it out below, along with the PeelingFlesh tracklist and the dates of the band's fall headlining tour.
