Disgraced DJ and former BBC Radio 1 presenter Tim Westwood has been charged with two additional sexual offences, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Westwood now faces a total of 17 charges involving nine women after being charged with multiple sex offences including rape and sexual assault in October 2025.
The Met Police confirmed yesterday, September 22, that the 68-year-old is facing two new charges. He is accused of indecently assaulting a girl aged between 16 or 17 in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1991, and is also accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old in Wandsworth in 2004.
"Mr Westwood is already charged with nine counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual assault and four counts of rape in relation to reported non-recent offences between 1983 and 2016 involving seven women," says CPS London deputy chief crown prosecutor Catherine P Baccas.
She continued: "Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring these additional charges to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue further criminal proceedings."
Westwood will appear at Westminster magistrates court on a date that is still to be decided. A trial is also set to begin in January 2027 relating to the other 15 charges against him.
In October last year, Westwood was charged with 15 alleged offences lodged by seven women, relating to his alleged conduct during his 19-year career at the BBC .
"It takes courage to come forward and report allegations of this nature," Met Police Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy said at the time. "The women who have done so have put their trust in us and we continue to provide them with all available support."
