Roland announces its first standalone US store to open in New York

Roland's new flagship store features its first dedicated grand piano showroom

Roland is opening its first standalone US store in New York early next month.

Located at 414 West 14th Street in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, the 9,000-square-foot warehouse space will be staffed by Roland experts and feature some of the latest products from the tech giant, as well as BOSS and DW, both owned by Roland. This includes BOSS effects pedals and amps, SP samplers, Roland TR drum machines and more.

According to a press release , the store will be sectioned into different areas, with a main showroom containing Roland products such as pianos, drums, guitar, synths, dance/DJ gear and Roland Cloud. Visitors can also step inside Roland's first and only grand piano showroom. The iconic Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer also gets its own dedicated space, with sessions and workshops around the 808's legacy planned.

Meanwhile, the store itself will be designed with the immersive AI-powered music system Roland Soundscapes, "that responds to movement, MIDI input, time of day, and even outdoor weather conditions".

Visitors to the Roland Store in New York City can try out gear in one-on-one appointments, which you can book online. They will also offer 30-minute workshops and free after-sales training for owners. An invite-only opening ceremony is taking place on 10th October. Find out more about the store here .

Roland currently has other flagship retail stores in London and Tokyo.

"New York has long been a place where new sounds, ideas, and creative movements take shape, making it a natural home for Roland’s US flagship store,” said Roland Corporation CEO Masahiro Minowa.

Manuele Barbini, CEO of Roland Americas, added: “We’re excited to give musicians, producers, and creators in New York a space where they can explore the latest Roland, BOSS, and DW innovations, connect with our team, and be part of a new creative hub for the city.”

The Japanese company recently announced a new AI-assisted melody-generation plug-in called the Melody Flip , aimed at helping producers spark creative ideas. At the start of 2026, it also dropped a new virtual version of the iconic CR‑78, the hardware unit featured on tracks such as 'In the Air Tonight' by Phil Collins and 'Heart of Glass' by Blondie, called the CR‑78 Software Rhythm Composer .
