5 Panels Not to Miss at ADE 2026's 30th Anniversary Conference

Amsterdam Dance Event turns thirty this October, and the daytime conference behind the world's largest club festival is using the milestone to look in two directions at once. ADE Pro runs October 21 through 24 across Amsterdam, and this year's programming splits cleanly into two throughlines: legacy, honoring the institutions and artists who built the last three decades of dance music, and global, tracking where the genre's next growth is actually happening. 30 Years of ADE opens the retrospective with the bluntest framing on the entire schedule. As the organizers put it, ADE has grown "from 300 professional delegates to 10,000, and from three nighttime venues to 300." Anna Knaup , Maria Jiménez , Richard Zijlma , Jan Willem van de Ven , Gary Smith , and Mariana Sanchotene join moderator Dave Clarke to walk through that trajectory, promising, in the conference's own words, "cheeky insights into things that did not go to plan" along the way. Music & Machines: A Conversation Between Artists from Different Generations puts Jean-Michel Jarre across the table from Lady Starlight , JakoJako , and Meike Jentjens , and the timing behind it is almost too neat. Luciano In Conversation with Marcel Dettmann , moderated by Dave Clarke , bills itself simply as three decades shaping electronic music, and the pairing works because the two artists represent opposite poles of the same era. Dettmann built his name as a Berghain resident known for stripped down, industrial techno, while Luciano's minimal house productions carved out an entirely different lane during the same years. Putting them across from each other rather than on separate stages is exactly the kind of cross generational dialogue a thirtieth anniversary program should be reaching for.

Brazil Calling: How a New Generation of Selectors, Clubs and Labels Is Taking Over Global Electronic Music shifts the conference's attention outward, and the pairing of Mochakk and the Solarce Brothers makes the case directly. The two acts bring different corners of Brazil's scene to the same table, and together they reflect just how fast the country has moved from an emerging market to one of electronic music's most closely watched growth stories. Brazil anchors one of three regional focuses ADE Pro is building this year's program around, alongside the Middle East and North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Shrinking Gatekeep: A Conversation Between Artists rounds out the list with a panel that cuts directly at questions of access. Novah , SPFDJ , LYZZA , and Connie Chow sit down to discuss who still controls the gates into the industry, and for whom those gates are actually opening. LYZZA's work spans music, image, and performance, and her framing of visibility, cultural export, and authorship runs through the entire conversation, while Novah, an ADE Lab alum now touring off a Tomorrowland Music EP, brings a parallel account of what it takes to build an audience across borders rather than within one scene. Coming out of a program that has spent 2026 spotlighting Brazil, MENA, and Sub-Saharan Africa as electronic music's fastest growing regions, this panel functions as the conference's clearest answer to who actually gets to lead that growth.
