Olympia London’s historic Grand Hall venue has cancelled all shows planned this year per rock band Royal Blood, as it deals with "unforeseen planning issues".

The band took to Instagram on Friday, October 2, to let fans know that their scheduled show, along with all other performances due to take place at the Kensington venue for the remainder of 2026, have been called off.

"Along with all other artists scheduled to play Olympia (The Grand Hall) this December, we have just been informed that the venue is facing unforeseen planning issues, and as a consequence they have been forced to cancel all shows this year," they wrote.

The Grand Hall is part of the Olympia London complex, formerly an exhibition hall, with a capacity of up to 7,000 standing. It underwent a £1.3 billion redevelopment in 2020, which lasted six years.

The band told fans that they’re "absolutely gutted that we cannot perform at Olympia as planned", and refunded those who purchased tickets after failing to find an alternative venue in London.

While the venue has yet to confirm this, there are no listings for performances at The Grand Hall for the remainder of the year on its official website. Far Out Magazine reports that Interpol, Bloc Party, and Jamie T were all scheduled to perform.

In June, a new 3,800-capacity live music and events venue opened within the Olympia London complex, named British Airways ARC. It came from the team behind global entertainment giant AEG, which also owns London's O2 Arena and festivals such as All Points East and LIDO.

So far, artists including Van Morrison and Self Esteem have performed at the new venue, with upcoming shows to take place from Snarky Puppy, Khalid, and more.
