UK music charity Youth Music has opened applications for its new £2.4 million arts fund with an aim to address industry-wide racial inequity.
Youth Music will award grants of up to £120,000 to around 20 organisations over the next four years with The Recharge Fund: Racial Equity , which is supported by National Lottery funding via Arts Council England.
The fund will aid organisations "led by and for communities experiencing racial injustice", Youth Music confirmed, which are aiming to build a better future for those in the arts.

Its launch follows a recent report from Pathway Fund , which found that 76% of Black and ethnic minority-led organisations believe that they have been refused funding because of race or ethnicity.
Applications to the fund opened on Friday, October 16, and will close on December 4. Successful organisations will be able to use funds freely, in the areas they’re "most needed".
Funds could be put toward things like leadership development, staff wellbeing or digital infrastructure, Youth Music said, amongst many other facilities and essential overheads.

"The research shows that young people from Black and global majority backgrounds can see a future for themselves in creativity, but are far less likely to see themselves represented in positions of leadership and power," says Youth Music CEO Adam Joolia. "We want that to change."
"We believe that organisations rooted in these communities are often best placed to nurture that talent, create opportunities and help young people imagine a future in the creative industries."
Applicants will also have access to workshops, webinars, one-to-one sessions and application access funding, Youth Music said.
