Region Stockholm reaches centrist governing agreement, freezing out the left

The Social Democrats, Centre Party, Green Party, Christian Democrats, and Liberals have agreed to govern Region Stockholm together.

The Social Democrats, Centre Party, Green Party, Christian Democrats, and Liberals have agreed to govern Region Stockholm together.

A majority coalition consisting of the Social Democrats, the Green Party, the Centre Party, the Liberals, and the Christian Democrats has been formed for the region, according to a press release.

At 3pm on Wednesday October 21st, the relevant politicians, led by Social Democrat Aida Hadzialic, will hold a press briefing.

Both the Centre Party and the Social Democrats in the region have strongly criticized the Left Party, alleging that it joined forces with the Moderate Party to sabotage a centrist administration.

The Left Party, for its part, has criticized the Social Democrats, the Green Party, and the Centre Party for negotiating towards the right instead of seeking support from the Left.
