Ministry of Sound ’s long-standing, six-stack Martin Audio soundsystem is going up for auction.

The legendary club system, which powered its main room, The Box, for almost 20 years, will go up for sale via music-focused auction house Wax Poetics tonight (October 29) at 5:PM.

The system became a signature part of the club room after it was installed in 2008, and was eventually retired in January 2026 during a major refurbishment and replaced with a KV2 soundsystem to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

Elsewhere, the auction also features both of Ministry of Sound’s original mirror balls, as well as a piece of the club’s original dancefloor, original architecture plans, and 12 issues of Ministry magazine.

The auction also includes flyers, press negatives, photographic slides, and sales awards for both Eric Prydz’ ‘Call On Me’ and Ministry of Sound’s ‘The Annual III’.

"Each piece in this collection tells part of Ministry of Sound’s story, from the line-ups on the flyers to the nights captured in photographs," says Wax Poetics co-founder Dave Holt.

"The soundsystem has a different role: It’s the equipment through which records become a shared experience, night after night. This rig connects directly to The Box and the generations of people who made it their dancefloor."

In January, Ministry of Sound unveiled a major refurbishment of its main room, which was described as a "complete reimagining" of the space and its first big update since the venue launched in 1991.

In the refurb, The Box’s DJ booth was lowered to accommodate a 360-degree view, while its backstage area was elevated to increase the room's capacity by 200. It also included a new "state-of-the-art" light installation.
