EU, UK sign Gibraltar status treaty easing border checks

The EU and Britain on Tuesday signed a deal ending border checks between Gibraltar and Spain six years after the UK left the bloc. Gibraltar residents can now cross to Spain using ‌residence cards ​while Spanish citizens can cross using a government ID card.
