Swissair Flight 111 Memorial in Peggys Cove Preservation Area, Nova Scotia
On September 2, 1998 Swissair Flight 111 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. All 215 passengers and 14 crew members perished in the crash. The crash site is near entrance to St. Margaret’s Bay, approx. 8km or 5mi off shore, and equidistant from the town of Peggy's Cove and Bayswater, NS. A small roadside marker points the visitor to a small parking area and short walking trail within the Peggy's Cove Preservation Area.
