New Tottenham club and arts space, radial, to open this September

The 250-capacity club will have a strict no phones policy

A new 250-capacity club is opening in Tottenham this September.

Founded by independent recording studio community Ten87 Studios , radial is set to open on 39b Markfield Road, the former site of Five Miles and MOKO . The venue describes itself as “a sound-led listening space for music, community and culture” and is backed by Arts Council England .

“A venue was always at the heart of our vision for the building. Small venues are essential for the artists within our studio community,” Ten87’s Rob Burn told Mixmag . “When the previous venue closed, it left a big void. It feels like a natural next step for the business, and we hope to build on the incredible cultural legacy of Tottenham.”

The space’s audio set-up will reportedly feature a custom 10-point soundsystem designed by Plastic People collaborator Nick Whitaker, alongside Martin Audio and Neumann speakers. Meanwhile, radial’s visual identity has been developed by creative studio SODA, with inspiration drawn from Olafur Eliasson’s landmark art installation, The Weather Project .

As part of its house rules , the venue will enforce no-phone and no-photography policies, with the team saying: “We believe music performance should be enjoyed in the moment.”

Learn more on radial’s website , and see a preview of the space on Instagram .

The announcement follows news of another new UK club venue, Vault , opening in Leeds this September.
