Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA share new tour film, under the fabric, featuring unreleased music
The 35-minute film captures a spontaneous live session shot in December last year
Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA have shared a new film featuring unreleased music by the two acts.
Titled under the fabric , the 35-minute film documents an impromptu live session the artists recorded together in Mexico City in December, while Fred was in the city for his USB002 tour. LATIN MAFIA, who hail from the city, also joined him on stage during his performance on 11th December.
The film was shot beneath a fabric installation by Dutch visual artist Boris Acket prior to the show, and is available to watch via Youtube below.
Writing on Instagram , Fred shared: “I really adore the things that naturally happen when me and LATIN MAFIA make stuff together. So right before the last show in Mexico City, we recorded this one take of some of the songs we [had] been working on under the fabric. The fabric in this context is maybe my favourite of any way we got to play with it.”
The release continues his rollout of material from the USB002 tour, which also featured guest appearances from Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter , The Streets , Underworld , and Nia Archives , among others.
Earlier this summer, Fred again.. shared every set from the run in a 108-hour YouTube mix. In January, he also exhibited several installations from the tour in New York , including the fabric canopy designed by Acket that hung above the crowd during each show.
Later this year, he’ll make his live debut in India , with a four-date run planned across the country.
