A couple who attended Leeds Festival over the weekend said they got an Uber over 80 miles to Creamfields because there was “no house music”.
As reported by Manchester Evening News , Aiden Warhurst and his partner put out a plea for tickets to Creamfields on the festival’s community page on Saturday, August 29, less than 48 hours after the festival began.
"All the house music at Leeds Fest has been shut down," he claimed. "Getting an Uber to Creamfields now. Will take ANY ticket, we just need some oonts oonts."
He said that he would pay "whatever it takes" to get to the dance music festival, and soon confirmed that he bagged tickets for £300 each. "Probably another £300 on this taxi meter," he said. "It’s all for a good cause."
Creamfields Community members applauded the couple, with one writing: "Mate, you are legends. Fucking dance your weekend away. I’m curious how much that Uber cost!"
Several dance music sets were cancelled at Leeds Festival and its sister event Reading Festival over the weekend due to safety concerns.

At Leeds, performances from Silva Bumpa, Locky, Omar+ and ALISHA were all called off over the weekend, while Prospa's b2b set with Skepta was also cancelled at Reading Festival.
Prospa urged "larger" festivals to increase the capacity of their dance music stages due to heightened demand in an Instagram story after their set was cancelled.
"We have seen this happen before at larger festivals in the UK," they wrote. "It's time to double the capacity of these tents or put dance music on the main stage."
