Amelie Lens and Angèle release collaborative single ahead of major Antwerp event
The new track previews a major record release and a 14,000-capacity municipal event, highlighting the commercial scale of Europe's electronic music sector.
Belgian electronic producer Amelie Lens and pop artist Angèle are releasing a collaborative single titled ‘run’ on 7th August. The duo initially debuted the song earlier this month following a surprise on-stage appearance by Angèle during a Lens performance at Belgium’s Dour Festival.
This track is included on Lens’ upcoming album ‘AURA’, scheduled for a 4th September release through the EXHALE Records label. The broader project was first revealed in May with the launch of the lead single, ‘our frequency’. Serving as the only joint effort on the record, the production merges the rich, velvety vocals of Angèle with rapid-fire techno percussion and sci-fi synths.
During an interview with DJ Mag at Tomorrowland, Lens mentioned her hope that the song will be the first music her unborn baby hears later this year. The broader release strategy includes a pre-save campaign to drive early consumer engagement for the label's flagship autumn release, and fans can currently access the pre-save link for the upcoming album.
This follows a series of high-profile announcements for the producer, including a recent back-to-back set with Sara Landry at Ultra Music Miami. The record launch is now anchored by a significant public-private cultural event in Belgium. Lens will headline a 14,000-capacity open-air show at Antwerp’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday 5th September.
The extensive nine-hour event, running from 2PM to 11PM, is produced in direct collaboration with the City of Antwerp.
This municipal partnership highlights how local governments are leveraging major nightlife figures to stimulate cultural tourism and regional economies. The nightlife sector remains a vital component of the broader European cultural economy. By co-producing a massive venue event at a prominent cultural institution, the City of Antwerp is actively investing in the commercial scale of the electronic music industry. Such initiatives transform standard album releases into major drivers of local footfall and hospitality revenue.
