Swedish House Mafia debuted a new track with Lykke Li during their Ushuaïa Ibiza residency this past weekend. Watch a clip of ‘Happiness Is So Sad’ below.

Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell premiered the new collaboration with the Swedish singer-songwriter on Sunday 28th June, as part of their weekly residency at the White Isle open-air club. The trio later announced on Instagram that the single is set for release on 31st July.

Swedish House Mafia discussed the upcoming collaboration in a Vogue Scandinavia interview earlier this month, where they also revealed that Max Martin and Oscar Holter co-produced the track. “We had this idea of putting together a Swedish Avengers crew,” Ingrosso said.

Speaking about working with Lykke Li, he added: “Lykke is just one of the coolest artists ever, she’s a true artist. She has this depth that we really love, and her voice is so unique.”

Lykke Li also reflected on the session, telling Vogue : “It’s always nerve-racking working with new people and writing something on the spot, but Sebastian completely put me at ease. His energy is insanely positive and infectious.

“When we found the riff we were all screaming with our hands in the air. Those melodies that pierce your soul, that make you want to cry and dance at the same time. We Swedes understand darkness but we love the light more than anyone else.”

Swedish House Mafia continue their Ushuaïa Ibiza residency every Sunday through to 13th September.
