Four Tet surprise drops new eight-track album under Wingdings moniker
The album emerged as an initial vinyl-only release last month, but is now available digitally
Four Tet has surprise released a new album under his indecipherable Wingdings moniker.
Spanning eight tracks, the new LP initially emerged as a vinyl-only release last month, but has now been made available digitally via Bandcamp and streaming platforms. The vinyl run was limited to 2,000 copies and quickly sold out after going on sale via online record stores.
The new album, which clocks in at around 37 minutes long and is filled with incomprehensible track titles that spread across the release's Bandcamp page, is out on Four Tet’s Text Records imprint. A number of its songs have been fixtures in the artist’s recent DJ sets, whilst track two on the album was previously released as a standalone single last October.
The Wingdings alias is one of a number of artist names used by Four Tet, real name Kieran Hebden. Over the years, he has also released music under the monikers 00110100 01010100, Percussions, KH, and 4TLR.
This past weekend, the UK artist performed at Italy’s Kappa FuturFestival , alongside Floating Points , Jazzy , Sammy Virji , Seth Troxler, Chris Lake, and more.
