Criminal complaint filed against Shlømo in Paris court
The French DJ and producer was among several hard techno artists dropped by their management agency earlier this year following allegations of sexual misconduct
A criminal complaint has reportedly been filed against hard techno DJ and Taapion Records boss, Shlømo.
As per a statement from advocacy group METOODJS , the French artist, real name Shaun Baron-Carvais, was named in a complaint submitted to the Paris Judicial Court by lawyer Maître Inès Davau on Friday 5th June. The complaint is "in relation to alleged acts of rape, psychological violence and death threats”. The filing of a complaint does not mean that a formal charge has been made, nor that an investigation has been launched at the time of writing.
“Through this legal action, the complainant asks for her voice to be heard, for the alleged facts to be examined by the competent authorities, and for the proceedings to follow their course within a legal framework,” the statement continued. You can read the post in full below.
The news follows a string of sexual misconduct allegations relating to Baron-Carvais and a number of other prominent artists in the hard techno scene earlier this year. In February, he was dropped by Steer Management agency in response to the accusations, alongside fellow DJs Basswell, Odymel and Carv.
Baron-Carvais has denied the allegations made against him, and responded to the criminal complaint in an Instagram story on Monday (8th June), writing: “One more time, I know what I’ve done and what I haven’t. I can’t wait for the legal process to accelerate in order to expose the truth ASAP.”
He also shared a longer video on his Instagram in late May addressing the allegations .
